Celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2010, Camp Wawenock for Girls is located on Sebago Lake in Maine. The view of the lake from the camp’s cove proved to be the key to the look of the site. The photograph of the cove on a glorious summer day was taken by one of the camp’s directors. I brought it into Photoshop and ran it through a special program to render the image more like a painting. This site runs on WordPress, allowing the camp staff to update the pages and post news updates. Google calendar is also embedded into the Calendar & News page. Using WordPress’ privacy settings, the pages meant only for alumnae and current campers are password protected.
Another fun side project was the opportunity to design the plaque commemorating the camp’s 100th Anniversary. The gorgeous wood carving was done by Michael Dow of Architectural Woodcarving.
